Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Cotswold Weald website. Cotswold Weald makes signs, plaques, coasters and personalised items for homes, gardens and small businesses. Products are made from real materials including solid wood and natural slate, so natural grain, texture, colour variation and markings should be expected. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

  • Cotswold Weald is not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not charged on orders.

2. Products

  • Every effort is made to show products clearly and describe them accurately.

  • As many items are made from natural materials, each item may vary slightly. Wood grain, knots, shade, slate texture, chipped slate edges and natural markings are part of the material and are not faults.

  • Colours may also appear slightly different depending on your screen settings.

3. Personalised and custom orders

  • Many Cotswold Weald products are personalised or made to order.

  • For personalised items, please check all names, numbers, dates, spellings and wording carefully before placing your order. Cotswold Weald is not responsible for mistakes entered by the customer.

  • Where a proof or design preview is supplied, work will only continue once the customer has approved it. Once approved, the item will be made using the approved details.

  • Personalised, custom-made or made-to-order items cannot usually be cancelled, returned or refunded unless they are faulty, damaged, or not made as agreed.

4. Orders and payment

  • An order is placed when checkout is completed and payment has been received.

  • Cotswold Weald may refuse or cancel an order if there is an issue with the details supplied, materials, pricing, stock, production capacity, or anything else that makes the order unsuitable or not possible to complete.

  • If an order cannot be accepted, a refund will be issued.

5. Pricing

  • Prices are shown in pounds sterling.

  • Prices may change at any time, but this will not affect orders already accepted.

  • Delivery costs, where applicable, will be shown at checkout.

6. Lead times

  • Lead times vary depending on the product, material availability and current workload.

  • Any lead time shown is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. If there is likely to be a significant delay, Cotswold Weald will contact you.

7. Delivery and collection

  • Collection and UK delivery available.

  • Delivery times are estimates only. Cotswold Weald is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services once an item has been dispatched.

  • Please make sure your delivery address is correct when placing your order. If an item is returned because the address was incorrect or incomplete, additional postage may be needed to resend it.

8. Returns, cancellations and refunds

  • For standard, non-personalised items bought online, customers have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the item, and a further 14 days to return the items from the date they notified you of cancellation.

  • Standard items must be returned unused, undamaged and in resaleable condition.

  • Personalised, custom-made or made-to-order items cannot usually be returned or cancelled unless they are faulty, damaged, or not made as agreed.

  • Return postage is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect.

  • Refunds will be processed once the returned item has been received and checked.

9. Faulty or damaged items

  • If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact info@cotswoldweald.co.uk as soon as possible. Under the UK Consumer Rights Act, consumers have up to 30 days to reject faulty goods for a full refund.

    • your order number

    • photos of the item

    • photos of the packaging

    • a short description of the issue

  • If the item is confirmed to be faulty, damaged in transit, or incorrect, Cotswold Weald will arrange a suitable resolution. This may be a replacement, repair, or refund depending on the situation.

10. Use, installation and liability

  • Some products may include fixings or mounting guidance.

  • It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure the product is fitted safely and appropriately for the surface or location being used.

  • Outdoor products should be fitted securely and checked from time to time. Natural materials may change slightly over time when used outdoors.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cotswold Weald’s liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from product use or faulty installation is limited to the purchase price of the product.

11. Intellectual property and supplied artwork

  • All Cotswold Weald designs, images, product photos, text and branding remain the property of Cotswold Weald unless stated otherwise.

  • Customers must not copy, reproduce or use Cotswold Weald designs or images without permission.

  • If you supply a logo, image, artwork or wording for a custom order, you confirm that you have the right to use it and that Cotswold Weald is allowed to use it to make your order.

  • Cotswold Weald may refuse work involving copyrighted, offensive, unsuitable or unclear artwork.

12. Product photos and examples

  • Product photos are used to show the item as clearly as possible. Some images may include edited, staged or digitally generated backgrounds for display purposes. The product itself, materials, size, finish and personalisation details will be described in the product listing.

  • Cotswold Weald may photograph finished items and use them as examples on the website, social media or marketing.

  • If your order includes personal details and you do not want it photographed or shared, please mention this when ordering.

13. Website information

  • Cotswold Weald aims to keep the website accurate and up to date, but errors may occasionally happen.

  • If a product, price, description or delivery cost is listed incorrectly, Cotswold Weald may correct the error and contact you before continuing with the order.

14. Privacy

  • Customer information is used to process orders, respond to enquiries, arrange delivery and provide customer service.

  • The website is powered by Shopify, which may process information needed to run the online store and checkout.

15. Changes to these terms

  • These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time.

  • The version in place at the time of ordering will apply to that order.
